MUSIC DEPARTMENT
COMPUTER LAB ASSISTANT (8121)

Music Department Computer Lab Assistants are responsible students needed to open and close Music Department Computer Lab at their scheduled times, assist students with computer-related equipment issues and enforce lab rules.
VISUAL ARTS DEPARTMENT
COMPUTER LAB ASSISTANT (8147)

Work Schedule: Flexible
Visual Arts Department Computer Lab Assistants assist the Computer Specialist, update and research computer software, and work with computer and printer problems, Additionally, they supervise 4-5 Visual Arts Practice students (VAPs), setting up work schedules and overseeing computer lab policies. Visual arts major and knowledge of computers are preferred.
COSTUME SHOP ASSISTANT (8147)

Costume Shop Assistants generally construct and alter costumes for theatrical productions. They are required to have experience with machine and hand sewing. Ironing and washing duties may also be assigned by the Costume Shop Supervisor, as well as organizing costume stock.
GRAPHIC ARTIST (8147)

Work Schedule: Flexible
Graphic Artists create program stuffers, colorful flyers and other small graphic needs. Ability to use Quark and other graphic design programs is required, and visual arts graphic design major is preferred.
MUSIC LAB ASSISTANT (8147)

Music Lab Assistants are generally responsible for monitoring the music lab and assisting with equipment checks, as well as running tutorials and practice software. Music majors or prior musical training is preferred.
SCENE ASSISTANT/PROP ASSISTANT/LIGHT SHOP ASSISTANT (8147)

Scene Assistants are required to perform carpentry, painting and other physical jobs to construct scenery. Prop Assistants construct props, and handle inventory and property rentals. Light Shop Assistants hang and focus lighting instruments. All Scene Assistants, Prop Assistants and Light Shop Assistants are required to maintain shop inventory.
TICKET SALES ASSISTANT/PERFORMANCE USHER (8147)

Work Schedule: Flexible
Ticket Sales Assistants and Performance Ushers assist patrons with ticketing, seating and security, prior, during and after performances. Ticket Sales Assistants may require some experience with handling money. Assistants and Ushers are not required to be Mason Gross students, but pleasant and friendly personalities are required.

Assists Master Printer and Papermaker with printing editions and making paper for invited professional artists at the Brodsky Center (RCIPP). Coordinates 4-5 Visual Arts Practice students: scheduling hours and organizing responsibilities to maintain a professional workshop. Knowledge of printmaking and papermaking and have organizational skills.

Maintains Cleanliness of ceramic studio, mixes clay using clay mixer, assists students with use of ceramic wheels, assists faculty member with kilns, supervises Visual Arts Practice students, prepares work schedules and conveys safety practices and responsibilities of working in the ceramic area. Works at the Livingston Arts Building. Arts students with knowledge of ceramics.

Assist students in developing their photos in the darkrooms (Color & Black & White) and to mix photo chemicals as needed. Researching new chemicals and equipment for the Photo area. In charge of inventory, recommending to the Photo Tech when to order new supplies. Supervises 4-5 Visual Arts Practice students, setting up their schedules and instructing them on the policy and safety issues of the photo lab. Knowledge of photography. Visual Arts graduate student preferred.
GRADUATE ASSISTANT – SCULPTURE TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (8147)

Monitors woodshop & metal shop at the Livingston Art Building (LAB), assists students with proper use of power tools (radial saws, band saws, bench grinders, etc.) and most importantly the safe way in which to use these tools. In the metal shop, show students how to weld (using oxygen, etc.) in a safe manner for their art work. Knowledge of power tools, and a visual arts major are required.

Assistant Gallery Sitter to the Gallery during open hours; assists the curator with installing and de-installing exhibitions and administrative work. Visual Arts major preferred.
