Events Assistant - This position requires a mature person (preferably a sophomore, junior or senior with a car). They will need to be independent and self-motivated. This person will be working on special events and inspirations events for our patient families. An example of an event is Halloween; they will be researching activities, ordering supplies, accepting RSVPs from the patient, arranging transportation, calling and asking for items to be donated (such as pumpkins), and assisting on the day of the event with managing volunteers. They will also be spending time at the hospitals and the clinic planning and managing activities for the children. Health Center Assistant – Performs a quality control function by processing data in accordance with established guidelines. Enters data into personal computer of new, added, changed or deleted information utilizing a variety of coding systems. Retrieves data on department computers and makes corrections/updates as needed. Health Center Assistant (Medical Records Department) - Locates and retrieves medical record charts for patient appointments per printed daily schedules and delivers to proper clinic area. Accepts and files the receipt of medical records of clinic patients. Attaches loose correspondence, laboratory, x-ray reports, progress notes, etc., to the medical records received from the clinical areas to complete the patient’s clinical records. Answers telephone calls coming into the department. Files all medical records in accordance with the terminal digit filing system. Performs other related clerical duties as assigned to ensure the efficiency of the daily operation of the Health Center. Reports to the Supervisor of Medical Records. Requires ability to pass uncomplicated filing test. One year of clerical experience helpful. Knowledge of computers and medical terminology an asset. One year experience in health care facility or doctor's office preferred. Medical Interpreter - Interprets medical encounters between healthcare providers and Spanish-speaking patients or Hispanics with Limited English Proficiency. Interprets medical encounters from Spanish to English and English to Spanish between healthcare providers and patients in a variety of clinical settings, Prepares accurate translations of basic information into Spanish or English. Assists healthcare providers in making telephone calls to Spanish-speaking patients as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Junior and Senior college students with advanced proficiency in Spanish as determined by NBCIP language assessment and a four hour training session on the theory and practice of medical interpreting.
