Procedures for Employment Authorization Forms (EAFs) for
FWSP Employees – Academic Year 2008-09

As you review this information, pay particular attention to the terms web EAFs and paper EAFs.

Changes for 2008-2009 EAFs:

·          The assignment page, which allowed departmental staff to see information on students who receive their assignments via web EAFs, will not be available until further notice.  We are working on enhancements to the page and we will notify you when it is again available for your use.

General Information

  • All students need authorization to work in a department on FWSP funds.  The FWSP authorization form is called the Employment Authorization Form or EAF.
  • The student employee may receive either a web EAF, which is an electronic authorization to work, or a paper EAF, which is a paper copy of the authorization.  Students who receive a web EAF will not receive paper copies; their EAF will be available to them only electronically.
  • Departments will receive paper copies of EAF pages 3 and 4 for all assigned students.  The letter “W” will appear next to the payroll status at the top of the form for students who receive web EAFs.  The same area is blank for students who receive paper EAFs.
  • For the future: We are working on automating the database so that we will eventually have all EAFs -- whether web or paper -- available for view on the job description page.  We are also working on adding a confirmation process for departments so that they can accept the assignments without receiving and returning paper copies of the EAF.  However, these options are not yet operational.  We will notify you of these changes as we advance through this multi-year project.
