America Reads Tutor

Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Office of Campus Information and Conference Services, Newark Campus, America Reads Tutors are responsible for conducting tutoring activities with elementary school children-from kindergarten to third grade. This includes one-to-one and group tutoring relative to the curriculum in place, and the objectives of the agency in charge.
Duties
Conduct daily scheduled tutorial and study sessions with tutees
Maintaining a journal of daily activities, progress, and attendance for assigned tutees
Notifying on-site coordinator of any emergencies, schedule changes, etc.
Developing and practicing tutorial activities relative to specific program goals and curriculum
Observing and maintaining independent and interdependent tutee participation in homework assignments and group activities
Attending scheduled meetings with on-site America Reads and RU student coordinator
Participating in monthly two-hour in service/refresher training sessions
Discussing and evaluating progress of tutees with program coordinator
